I can't add more beads to my felt square if I don't want to loose the random-pattern idea.
I was inspired by two dolls from Charla Khana, that appeared on the Spring 2004 issue of Art Doll Quarterly. One of the dolls have a dress covered by beads in a ramdom pattern, the other had some beads set in squares enhaced with some embroidery. I like her dolls, the face is quite simple, but each dress is a beautiful display of fabric manipulation and embellishment.
I also like the way that beads and threads lie by chance in a piece of fabric when you are working in a project. I think I kept missing the point of the random display, I guess that my brain didn't want to let me free. I have to stop thinking too much.
There is a gallery with all the Felt Squares participating in Vanda's Project. I feel that mine is not artistic enough. Well Vanda can always use the back of it.
oh I love your felt square so much!! I just keep staring at it. The buttons and beads together are wonderful. And the embroidery is reminding me of Japanese Sashiko which I'm very keen on right now. I've been wanting to make a bag or something with buttons as a design element and now I'm definitely going to have to add beads to the mix.
so inspiring! thank you :)
